I started my Hallmark fandom around 2011, and since then, I’ve wanted to write a holiday romance script that might one day become a TV movie. So when I saw that there was a chance to take a twelve-week class to learn how to write a script just like the ones from one of my favorite channels, I knew I had to enroll. I was also looking for something to bring me joy in the height of the pandemic.
The class was hosted by a screenwriting school called ProPath and the instructor was Jess Yingling, a producer who had already worked with Hallmark on a few movies. Through the support and guidance of Jessica, I managed to write a script I was very proud of!
At the end of the class, Jessica really loved my script and emailed that she’d love to offer me an option agreement. After having my agent look it over, I signed with RomCom Pictures!
The announcement also made it into Deadline! So cool! It’s hard to get a movies made, so who knows what the future holds. For now, I’m honored to have made it to this step.
