Song of the Day: Strength, Courage and Wisdom

Hello all! Last week I said I would committ to submitting at least one piece of writing for publication to a literary magazine. Let me tell you all about my embarrassing moment. I wanted to submit to an anthology which would feature stories told in the second person. I had written a story where a woman was addressing her ex-boyfriend. There I was thinking how brilliant my story was and how much the editor would love it. I submitted the piece and it was promptly followed by a letter from the editor thanking me but my story and informing me that my story didn’t fit the anthology because it was in the first person. “No it’s not!” I exclaimed to absolutely no one. Then I went back and read it. “Yes it is,” I said, quietly to myself. I felt so stupid! I did hold up my end of the bargain, but I made a careless mistake in the process. My next goal is to get this story out to another magazine. And so the cycle begins again!

That sucks! But I am sure that's something I would've done, too. I'm sure another mag will love the story 🙂
