Contests:
1. The Zócalo Public Square Poetry Prize
The Zócalo Public Square Poetry Prize is awarded annually to the U.S. poet whose poem best evokes a connection to place. The winning poet will receive $500.00. No Entry Fee! Deadline is March 15, 2013.
2. Pressgang Prize
Pressgang, the small press affiliate of the writing program at Butler University, is looking for a book-length collection of prose (stories or essays). Prize is $1200, publication and a reading at Butler. Entry fee is $25 and the contest ends on June 1, 2013.
3. Ploughshares Emerging Writer’s Contest
Open to previously unpublished writers. Categories are fiction, non-fiction and poetry. Fiction or non-fiction under 6,000 words and between 3-5 pages of poetry accepted. Prizes: $1,000 and publication in the Winter 2013-14 issue of Ploughshares for the winner of each category. Entry Fee is $24, which includes a year’s subscription to Ploughshares. Current subscribers may submit for free. Contest closes on April 2, 2013.

1. Zingara Poetry Picks
Zingara Poetry Picks, a weekly feature of the blog, Zinagarapoet.net, which has a loyal following and reaches a broad range of readers, is seeking submissions of previously unpublished poems (on-line or in print) for the website. Poems should be no longer than 40 lines, including stanza breaks. Check the website for monthly themes.
2. The Atlas Review
The Atlas Review accepts anonymous submissions of fiction, non-fiction, poetry and visual art. Submission period ends May 15, 2013.
3. StorySouth
StorySouth is now accepting unsolicited submissions of fiction, poetry, and creative non-fiction. The submission period will end on June 15, 2013.
