Let’s get one thing straight: I watch and love all Hallmark movies. In fact, you can just call me the Hallmark Movie Queen—which is what my friends and family call me.
I fell in love with Hallmark Christmas movies first back in 2011! I had just been through the ringer with a bad breakup, and I stumbled on the Hallmark channel. I don’t remember the exact movie, but I remember marveling over classics like Annie Claus is Coming to Town, The Christmas Card, and The Most Wonderful Time of Year! (I watched Happy Days as a kid and loved that The Fonz was in a Hallmark movie!) They made me feel so warm, wonderful, and most importantly, hopeful. They erased every ounce of bitterness I had from that devastating breakup, and they restored my faith in love. I was a hopeless romantic again.
I’ve been riding that wave ever since. Eventually, I couldn’t pull myself away from the channel! Let’s just say I took the phrase “Hallmark Channel on, all my worries gone” to heart! I enjoy Hallmark movies so much that I started writing my own mini stories (Holiday on Park; Letter to Santa) modeled after them and even took a class on how to write them. Now, when someone gives me a premise, I can name the movie 97% of the time.
Which leads me to my next point. Because of my obsession, I get asked all the time to recommend movies. So I thought, I should put together a blog post of all my favorite movies! First, it will allow me to continue procrastinating on writing deadlines (don’t tell my agent or editors!), and second, why would I pass up a chance to geek out on Hallmark Christmas movies? Some people have Marvel, or Star Wars—I have Hallmark Channel.
